About Joseph Wright

Wright Contracting was launched in the spring of 1986. The first job site was a 4 x 6 foot sand box and the initial equipment inventory consisted of a small John Deere tractor and a toy dump truck. Propelled by the same fertile imagination of a two year old boy things have grown since then.

As a native of Cleveland County in Western North Carolina Joseph “Joe” Wright, principal of present day Wright Contracting LLC, deepened his appreciation of nature in the streams, fields and woodlands of his family’s farm.

With work experience in landscaping and leadership skills acquired on his road to Eagle Scout, Wright continued on to earn a B S degree in Biological & Agricultural Engineering with a minor in Business Management from North Carolina State University in 2008.

During that educational process Wright was fortunate to forge lasting relationships with industry leaders, educators and innovators in the field of stream remediation and stormwater management such as Dr. Bill Hunt and Dr. Greg Jennings. These connections remain guiding influences today.
